Some parliamentary initiatives on gender equality in the Aragon Parliament

Abstract

The Spanish Constitution from 1978 implied an important step to recognize the equality between men and women. Together with the prohibition of gender discrimination, the Public Power has the must of removing the obstacles which interfere in that equality, adopting the suitable steps. In Aragon Parliament they have been presented a great number of initiatives to advance in that equality. Initiatives relative to gender violence in the labour field, in science, technolgy, investigation and others destinated to increase the politics participation of women. Aragon is a sample to confirm the level of women’s participation in public institutions.
