Reflections on the autonomy of public schools

The question that arises is to what extent it is autonomy and, consequently, a certain diversity and pluralism among public schools. And it is necessary to analyse the legal nature of the public school, address the issue of defining the concept of autonomy and its reality in educational systems; and finally examine the regulation of autonomy in the Spanish legal system.
The study will highlight the limited scope of the claims of normative texts on autonomy, and the balance to be given to the consideration of the public as an area of neutrality but also space that reflects the plurality of our societies. In turn autonomy must come together with the principle of equality that guarantees free access to education and equal opportunities.
