Legal analysis of the new Law of the President and the Government of Aragon

This article aims to analyze, from a purely legal perspective, the main contents of a very recent law approved by the Cortes of Aragon: Law 2/2009 on May 11, which establishes the legal regime applicable to the President and the Government of Aragon.
We study first the figure of the President of Aragon, conceived in the Statute of Autonomy of Aragon in 2007 as the central institution of the Autonomous Community, and then the remaining members of the government, ie, the Vice President or Vice- Presidents and Directors. The so-called personal status of members of the Government, with special reference to their appointment and dismissal, powers and system of incompatibilities, is one of the matters highlighted in the analysis of the Law 2/2009.
The new legal regulation of the Government of Aragon, superior collegiate body of the Autonomous Community, is also under consideration in this work, in particular, issues relating to designation, powers, or functions, among others, as well as their ability to the development and adoption of legal norms, highlighting the concerns raised by the legal system provided for the Government in office or the inclusion of certain organs such as collaboration and support to the Government.
This analysis of the Law 2/2009 on May 11, the President and the Government of Aragon, is based on continuous glances to the regulation established in recent similar legislation adopted in both the State and Autonomous Communities, in particular in Catalonia, Andalusia and Extremadura.
